The Vellore Institute of Technology, often known as VIT University, is one of India's most prestigious private engineering universities. Under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission  Act, 1956, this University was established in the year 1984 as Vellore Engineering College by Mr G. Viswanathan. The institute received university status from the UGC later in 2001. (University Grants Commission). When VIT first began, it only offered technical education courses to students. Admission procedure

Full-time admissions are accessible to undergraduate and graduate programs at the Vellore Institute of Technology. Performance in the VITEEE exam, which is followed by VITEEE counselling, determines eligibility for Vellore B.Tech admission. Performance on prior qualifying exams is a factor in admission to other programs, including B.Sc, B.B.A, B.Com, B.Sc, and M.Sc.
